Groundsperson / Gardener (Full-time) - Woldingham

We are seeking a dedicated Groundsperson/Gardener to maintain the outdoor areas of our Woldingham Garden Centre. The ideal candidate will have a passion for gardening and landscaping, ensuring that the grounds are well-kept and visually appealing. Hours will be 8am to 5pm, Monday to Friday.

Duties:
- Perform general groundskeeping duties to upkeep the centres outdoor areas
- Maintain lawns by mowing, edging, and watering
- Plant, prune, and care for flowers, shrubs, and trees
- Operate power tools and equipment for landscaping tasks
- Irrigate plants and maintain proper watering schedules
- Use hand tools for detailed garden work
- Monitor and control weeds, pests, and diseases

Qualifications:
- Proven experience in groundskeeping or landscape maintenance
- Knowledge of plant care and gardening techniques
- Proficiency in operating power tools for landscaping purposes
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills

Yard Worker (Full-time) - Chelsham

We currently have a vacancy in our hard landscaping department at our Chelsham centre. This is a full-time position and includes alternate weekend working, with one day off each week.

The successful applicant will be an essential part of our professional team and be able to demonstrate good retail ability, good customer service and organisational skills. Some experience of knowledge of hard landscaping materials would be an advantage, but is not essential. This is an outdoor role which requires someone to be physically fit and able to drive a forklift vehicle. Heavy lifting is involved. You must be comfortable working in all weathers, be organised, and willing to be flexible.

Barista / Catering Assistant (Full-time) - Chelsham

Our Seasons Restaurant is looking for a full-time barista / catering assistant to join our fantastic team at an established garden centre restaurant. Minimum of 30 hours per week.

Candidates should have a passion for making new friends whilst delivering prompt, efficient service and have an eye for detail.

To become part of the Seasons team we need you to be friendly, polite and professional. You will also be eager to learn; we want our baristas to want to have the best reputation in the area. We would also like for you to be able to show your skills off by hand crafting top quality, individually made drinks. Experience is not essential as training on the job is given.

Working hours will include alternative weekends and Bank Holidays as required.

No split shifts! Social hours!

Chef/Cook (Full-time) - Woldingham

The Dene Restaurant at Knights Garden Centres, Woldingham is set in a peaceful and pretty location with lovely gardens.

Sociable working hours! Mostly 8am to 4pm shifts and not every weekend is required.

The Dene restaurant is looking for a full-time (including alternate weekends) cook/chef to help assist in our friendly, busy kitchen. You will need to have flair and passion to create and make delicious meals for our loyal customers and show initiative and leadership skills. Have an understanding about allergies and their importance.

A basic food hygiene certificate is required and a catering qualification would be an advantage. Experience is essential.

Accommodation on site is available for a single occupant; if required.

Plant Area Assistant (Full-time) - Chelsham

We are looking for a hardworking, self-motivated person to join the plant team at our Chelsham Centre. The candidate must be outgoing and well presented, friendly, able to quickly build a good relationship with customers and enjoy the enthusiasm our customers have for gardening. A keen interest in horticulture and knowledge of plants is preferred and the ability to work as part of a team.

Please note that due to the nature of the role that heavy lifting is required.

‪Duties will include:

· ‪Receiving and processing weekly deliveries of plants.

· Customer service and sales

· Helping customers with general gardening queries.

· ‪Maintaining plant displays and creating attractive new displays

· ‪Ensuring the retail space is presentable for customers

· ‪Stock management including watering of plants

· ‪Outdoor working required in all weather conditions, physically fit and able to handle heavy stock.

Training and support will be given to assist the candidate in developing their knowledge of plants and plant care.

‪Working hours will include alternative weekends and Bank Holidays as required.

A uniform will be provided.
